Pop-Up Blocker Settings

The accelerator can prevent pop-up windows and floating flash advertisements from appearing. This behavior is enabled by default.

Enabling and Disabling the Pop-Up Blocker

To enable or disable the Pop-Up Blocker, click on the system tray icon and select Pop-Up Blocker... from the menu. Use the sample below for reference.

Select the Options tab at the top if it's not already selected.

The Options:

  • To stop pop-up windows from opening, put a checkmark in the box beside Enable PopUp Blocker.
  • To block floating flash animated ads from appearing, put a checkmark in the box beside Block floating Flash-Ads.
  • To hear a beep whenever a pop-up window is blocked, put a checkmark in the box beside Notify blocked pop-up by PC speaker beep.

Press OK to save your settings.

Adding Sites to the White List

Some websites require pop-up windows to function correctly. The accelerator allows you to create a White List of sites that you wish to allow pop-up windows on.

To add a site to your white list, click on the system tray icon and select Pop-Up Blocker... from the menu. Use the sample below for reference.

Select the White List tab at the top.

Click on the Add button. Type the address of the site you wish to add to your white list (i.e. www.domain.com).

Press Enter.

You can also add a website to your White List while you're on that site by right clicking on some plain text in the site. From the context menu, select Add to Whitelist.

Viewing the Pop-Up Blocker Log

You can view a list of all the sites that the Pop-Up Blocker stopped pop-up windows from displaying on.

To view the Pop-Up Blocker Log, click on the system tray icon and select Pop-Up Blocker... from the menu.

Select the Logging tab at the top.

You will now see a list of sites the Pop-Up Blocker blocked pop-up windows on.

If you feel that a site is not displaying properly, due to the Pop-Up Blocker, then refer to this Log file to see if the site in question is in the log. If the site is in the log file, and you decide that you want to allow pop-ups on this site, you can add the site to your white list.
